La Croix Valmer, Lovely seaside resort of the Var, only 10kms from Saint Tropez was born in 1934 from its detachment from the commune of Gassin. It really expanded with "the Domaine de La Croix" the important winery of in 1892 by a Lyonnais shareholder company.
It is on the lands of the Domain that dominate the Mediterranean, that at the beginning of the Xxth century developed in this site sheltered in the middle of the pines, "the winter resort". The village will take shape around the station and the small square and will carry successively the names of La Croix, then La Croix de Cavalaire, La Croix des Mimosas and finally La Croix Valmer. In 1906, La Croix was composed luxury villas and prestigious hotels surrounded by vineyards.
