1892 marked a turning point in the history of La Croix-Valmer, as it left the vineyards of La Croix, founded by a Lyon shareholder. Enjoying a dominant position on the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by pine trees, the “winter resort” developed at the beginning of the 20th century.

Wrapping itself around the railway station and the small central square, the village went by various names, from La Croix, La Croix-de-Cavalaire, La Croix-des-Mimosas to La Croix-Valmer, in keeping with the name of the district, which is made up of magnificent villages and luxury hotels along the vineyards.

Bastides located near the village and along the coast date from the late 19th - early 20th century. The remarkable appearance of La Croix-Valmer is accentuated by these exceptional properties stretching along the coast.
