Lancôme, producer of organic roses
Following the example of Chanel's flower fields and Louis Vuitton's famous perfume creation workshop in Grasse, Lancôme has become a producer and owner.
Having acquired the land in the Domaine de la Rose in Grasse last October, Lancôme, the prestigious perfume and cosmetics brand of the L'Oréal group, is now harvesting its first crop of Centifolia roses, which are then used in the composition of its fragrances. This 4-hectare estate is entirely dedicated to the cultivation of perfume plants, in particular the Centifolia rose, known as the Rose de Mai. Lancôme's priority is to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity through the estate's agricultural practices. This logic is in line with the sustainable and respectful production of aromatic plants.
Perfume plants have been cultivated in Grasse for several centuries. The fertile soil of this town represents the optimal conditions for the production of fragrances. Grasse, undoubtedly known as the cradle of French perfumery, welcomes thousands of visitors every year. This sublime world capital of perfume has several museums - the Musée International de la Parfumerie, the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Provence - in the heart of the city as well as the three famous perfume houses: Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard.
The Magrey & Sons group, with its three agencies in Cannes, Mougins and Saint-Tropez, offers its clients unique prestige properties all along the French Riviera. The town of Grasse, ideally situated in the hills to the north of Cannes, is an ideal cultural excursion for Magrey & Sons clients, staying in the heart of the group's sublime rental villas and flats. Also, thanks to its numerous partnerships, the agency is able to offer its clients private excursions to the heart of Grasse to explore this charming city of a thousand scents.
