It took more than four years to restore the splendour of the Château de la Croix des Gardes in Cannes, one of the most expansive and magnificent estates on the French Riviera. Standing on 11 hectares of lush parkland, akin to a sentinel over the preserved Croix des Gardes forest, this residence offers a spectacular panorama of the snow-capped Alps, the Estérel hills, the Lérins islands, and the vivid blue of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Château de la Croix des Gardes: Over 100 Years of History in Cannes
Founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Swiss industrialist Paul Girod, the Château de la Croix des Gardes is part of a prestigious circle of residences that have witnessed the grandeur of the Côte d'Azur throughout the ages. Its owners have made significant contributions over time: from the original Italianate gardens, a Neo-Palladian remodelling, to numerous expansions and decorations undertaken by renowned architects and decorators.
This estate, styled in the Florentine manner, includes 16 ensuite rooms within the main building, which consists of five floors, along with an independent penthouse and two cottages. The Château's interiors are appointed with the finest materials, featuring spaces like a ballroom, reception, office, and dining areas that can host 200 seated guests. In the basement, entertainment amenities include a cinema, bowling alleys, a speakeasy, arcades, and more.
The Château's gardens cover 11 hectares. The Italian Garden, a symmetrical masterpiece, evokes tranquillity and romance. The 36-meter-long infinity pool on the southern forecourt stretches over the Mediterranean, creating an endless blue horizon.
The location famously inspired Alfred Hitchcock in 1954 to film several scenes of his cinematic masterpiece "To Catch a Thief" with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly here.

Adorned with columns and trompe-l'oeil paintings, the Château boasts spectacular rooms, preserving its historical features such as chandeliers, precious woods, marble, and offering grand volumes.
An Exceptional Venue for Exclusive Events
The legendary Château hosts the most prestigious events on the Riviera and has been a favoured venue for elite clients such as Versace, Kering, Apple TV, and others.
